AWS re:Invent 2018: Application Portability with Kubernetes (CMP310-S)
Published on Nov 28, 2018
Application portability has always been the goal that operators aspire towards. The deployment simplicity in Kubernetes has made this goal attainable, especially when using Kubernetes-as-a-Service like VMware Kubernetes Engine (VKE), built natively on AWS. In this talk, using an application running in the data center, we show how easy it is to implement a hybrid cloud strategy and deploy the same application onto a VKE-managed Kubernetes cluster using Helm. We share best practices on how to implement end-to-end network configuration automation and application monitoring with open-source tooling like Prometheus and Grafana. This session is brought to you by AWS partner, VMware, Inc.
