Now You See It, Now You Don't: Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) in Public Sector

Published on Jul 02, 2018

AWS Public Sector Summit 2018 - Washington, D.C. Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) based solutions offer a promising future in public sector, whether for enhancing citizen engagement and e-services, distance learning and simulated training, interacting with data in innovative ways, to name a few. However, building these solutions forces organizations to make hard choices on hardware and technology platforms that they can support. That is until now! Amazon Sumerian lets anyone create and run AR, VR, and 3D applications quickly and easily without requiring specialized programming or 3D graphics expertise. In this session, participants learn how to use Sumerian to build a scene that is viewable on laptops, mobile phones, VR headsets, and digital signage. We will also demonstrate how to manipulate assets and add behaviors to create dynamically animated objects and characters in an AR/VR experience. Finally, we will cover how Sumerian integrates into AWS services such as Amazon Polly, Amazon Lex, AWS Lambda, Amazon S3, and Amazon DynamoDB. Speakers: Taylor Carol, Len Henry
